The purpose of the project was to deliver an Operations Support System for the NOC. The NOC monitors an optic fiber cable network between Australasia and the United States. The project involved development, implementation and integration of complex technology components.

Installation and Configuration of the Peoplesoft-Vantive (CRM) in Windows NT & Unix Solaris 2.6 platform, and customization and programming of behind-the- scenes functionality, coding in Visual Basic, workflow, notification rules and writing stored procedures in PL/SQL (Oracle8).

Design, develop, code, test and implement applications according to project software standards in NetExpert and People soft CRM.

Developing Events, Methods, Dialogs and Gateways with OSI's NetExpert (Agilent), developed user interfaces (GUI) using OSI's Visual Agent tools.

Developed the Trouble Ticket Management, Network Fault Management, Permit Management, Customer Inquiry Management modules in the PeopleSoft Vantive (CRM) environment this development was from the scratch as the People soft-Vantive CRM package does not provide functionality for Network Fault Management

In the second phase of the project, designed and developed an SNMP Gateway in NetExpert for monitoring a network of Sun Solaris boxes, setup and configured SNMP, configured SNMP agents.

Designed and Developed an ISN/FTP Gateway in the NetExpert environment. Coding using NetExpert proprietary rule sets and also the development of dialogues using NetExpert, to perform requests for Inventory and performance reports generated by Alcatel Equipment monitoring Network Elements on the Southern Cross Network, transfer files across the network using FTP and parsing of reports. The component provides data to an OSS NOC Reporting System (Cognos) and Auto Discovery System

Performed the analysis and proof of concept for the Contract Management Information System, this system is designed to provide access to structured contract data on a Oracle7.3 database through standard and ad-hoc reports and queries, ensure all invoicing is performed as per contractual obligations through an Active Server Pages (ASP) Interface as front-end IIS4.0, standard contract templates are in MS-Word 97 format. Finalized contracts are published on the Tran power’s Intranet for staff access.

The prototype developed in the process of proof the concept, was used to demonstrate to the client.

Development and implementation of the Management Information System for Usman dan fodio University.Designed, developed and implemented a Students Academic and Personal Information System and Payroll System in Dbase V. Restructured & modified the databases and Payroll System application to accommodate change caused due to Salary Structure, and introduction of added benefit and loaning schemes. The system was developed in COBOL. Pioneered the yearly publication of a statistical digest, to present student performance, growth, diversity and interests.

Client: Megatech Computer School and Caliphate Computer Communications Ltd.Usman Dan Fodio University Consultancy Services ran this project to support, computer-training institutions affiliated to the University.

Organized and conducted Computer training courses.
